Two Weeks Down
Jan. 16th, 2009 09:12 pmThe slug came back to visit today. I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep last night, which made for a slow start to today, and the slug took that opportunity to sneak inside. Since then, however, I have kicked its slimy butt back out to the curb.
Reading: I've reached the halfway point in Musicophilia. Today's reading included a chapter on musical synesthesia. Ever since I first heard about it, I've been extremely fascinated by synesthesia, so I had been looking forward to this chapter, and it didn't disappoint. And while I'm on the topic of synesthesia, for a short story that deals with it, I highly recommend checking out Jeffrey Ford's "The Empire of Ice Cream."
Exercising: 20 minutes on the elliptical strider, during which time I figured out how to rewrite the novel scene I had been working on. I've found time on the strider to be great for working through story issues in my head. I love it when I can get two things done at once.
Music Stuff: No singing today (unless you count singing along with my iTunes playlist), but I got in some piano practice.
Writing: Some more work on chapter two, which I may or may not finish up next week. It depends on if I decide to move a later scene to the end of this chapter or leave it where it is. And since I still haven't come up with a new title for this novel yet, I think I'm just going to refer to it as My Big Fat Epic Fantasy Novel.
And now, less than an hour until the first of Battlestar Galactica's final episodes airs and my weekend truly begins. Woo hoo!
