A good review! And no rejections!

At last, a Monday that doesn't suck. There's a very positive review of my story "To Someone Who Needs Prayer" (from issue 61 of Hub) over at The Fix (much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] marshall_payne for pointing me to it...and speaking of, Marshall's got an interview with Gregory Frost over there as well).  And the other day, a nice comment about the story showed up in Hub's comments section for the issue, so yayness!

After my last few Monday mornings, I was kind of fearing today. But amazingly, when I got online this morning, there were no rejections in my inbox. And when the postman came a little bit later, there were no dreaded SASEs of Doom awaiting me in the mail. Needless to say, I am much relieved.

Congrats, Barbara! That was one of the more pleasant moments of being a copyeditor. Knowing that Doug Hoffman's review would put a smile on your face. That was late last evening. The first thing I did this morning was read "To Someone Who Needs a Prayer." He's right. Very fine story! :-)

And thanks for the shout-out on Greg's interview.

Thanks! And as for the shout-out thanks, you're welcome, of course. :)

There might be a pop quiz if you wait too long. :p

OK, just read it. Hehe, lots of fun! I'll be watching out for those pledge envelopes! :)

Hee hee. The story was based on an actual piece of religious spam mail I got, so it's possible you just might get one someday. :)

Just read Prayer. Excellent revision. Perfect pacing and a final line kicker!

Thanks, Todd! All the great comments from folks at Odyssey helped a ton.

Sigh. Now I miss it too.

To people like you for exposing my perfectly brilliant scheme. It's alright, I have one that looks like a RNC donation packet.

Too obvious?
