Dear Brain,

Remember that focus thing you used to be so good at?  I kind of miss it.  What do you say we invite it over and hang for a bit?  Because, you know, it really shouldn't have taken me two hours to come up with a handful of deity names.  Yeah, sure, we got one sentence revised too, but the story's 6,200 words long.  That's a lot of sentences to deal with.

Love,
Me

Let me know if your letter works.
My brain seems to think that a revision pace slower than a slug crossing the Atlantic is appropriate these days. Phooey, I say. Phooey. So if your letter works, I'm flying down.

My brain wrote back and told me it agrees with your brain. Said a slow pace builds character or something. I think our brains are just lazy.

At least your brains are civil. I tried to have a discussion with mine about returning to our novel draft. It called me a buttmunch and then it concussed itself to spite me. Now I'm very tired, but everyone keeps shouting at me to stay... awaaake...

I think my brain concussed itself too.
That's why it just keeps moaning.

Maybe it's the popsicles. Maybe they're actually bad for us.

Nice to know that there are popsicle defenders out there, in this difficult time, when so much is uncertain.

And of course, we all know that Erica *hid* so she could sneak another popsicle.

Bad for us? Popsicles?

I will not tolerate such blasphemy on my LJ, young lady!

Really, marvelous to see another popsicle defender rising to the occasion!

And scandalous to see Erica *hanging her head*--You don't fool anyone, Ms. Psion, shocking really, how many different ways you've come up with to sneak popsicles.

Come, come, now, no need to sneak. I'll send an extra special variety over to help out with this momentary confusion--a delicious variety called 'Popsicle Proud'...tastes like unmitigated success, fulfillment, peer respect, enough money to be foolish, a surfeit of ideas, and finishes off with a dollop of high-kicking wild delight. Requires three friends to open the box, and both of your hands to eat each particular popsicle, as each one is shoulder-high and comes with their own glorious cooling stand, so they'll be no more sneaking!

My lazy brain salutes your lazy brain.
Oops...there it goes...I think it just slunk off to Maui to hang in a hammock and drink guava smoothies while I'm left to do the writing.
